U.S. Senate Considers Alternative Proposal Limiting Tax Deductibility of Charitable Giving
Senate Finance Committee members are considering a modified version of President Obama’s proposal to limit the value of charitable and other itemized deductions for upper-income taxpayers. The alternative plan would limit deductions to 33 percent or 35 percent for taxpayers whose income tax brackets would increase to 36 percent or 39.6 percent in 2011. AHP has responded in a statement issued June 30, 2009 in coalition with AFP, CASE and other concerned organizations. Learn More and Download the Coalition Statement.
