Senate Finance Committee invites comments on health care reform funding proposal
The Senate Finance Committee is considering modifications to the tax-exempt status requirements of nonprofit hospitals and limiting itemized deductions for higher-income taxpayers as possible options for funding health care reform. The Committee issued a policy options paper, May 18, which provided details of their proposal.
This document is "intended to spur discussion of proposed options that the committee is schedule to act on in June." E-mail comments to Health_Reform@finance-dem.senate.gov through May 26th.
