The Association's highest honor, the Si Seymour Award, recognizes distinguished leadership in Association affairs. This award is in the name of Si Seymour, one of the trailblazers in the world of philanthropy, and in appreciation for having fostered and promoted exemplary standards of excellence for volunteerism and philanthropic support. The awardee is honored each year at the AHP International Conference. The award commemorates Si Seymour, who spent 50 years as a career fundraiser, serving many national charities, including YMCA, YWCA, Salvation Army, Girl Scouts of America, American Cancer Society, and the United Negro College Fund.

2009 Si Seymour Award Winner

In 2009 the Si Seymour Award was presented to Ann Thompson-Haas. Ms. Thompson-Haas was recognized for her long-time involvement in AHP, and her leadership role in supporting and improving AHP's education and certification programs.
Currently a principal and senior consultant with Larkwood Consulting, LLC in Oakland, Calif., she provides counsel and training in all areas of philanthropic resource development as well as team dynamics, leadership and career management.
Thompson-Haas served as regional vice-president for development for the St. Joseph Health System and as CEO of the Motion Picture and Television Fund Foundation. She is a past-president of Women in Film, a former board member of several San Francisco Bay Area arts organizations and worked in leadership and development at the University Hospitals of Chapel Hill, N.C.
