Requirements:
  • Progressively responsible fundraising experience with emphasis on building, sustaining, and overseeing an Annual Giving program in higher education or health care.
  • Proven experience in the full spectrum of development including: gift policies, solicitations, stewardship, donor recognition, high level boards, support groups and administration.
  • Demonstrated expertise using on-line databases and other software to create retrieve, and compile up-to the- minute documents and historical information for proposal reports and analysis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, accountability, and experience in developing budgets and using financial information for comprehensive budgetary reports.
  • Experience projecting budgetary needs and comprehension skills to formulate budgetary planning and prioritization of projects, programs, and activities, using sound judgement while meeting organizational needs.
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in an academic environment.

Health Sciences Director of Annual and Alumni Giving

As a member of the Health Sciences senior management team serve as Health Sciences Director of Annual and Alumni Giving. In concert with the overall priorities of the University, provide leadership in formulating and implementing effective goals, strategies, and activities to secure annual and special gifts for UC San Diego Health Sciences and its respective units while building and growing a strong base of new donors. Special emphasis should be given to implementing and sustaining a unified Annual Giving program Health Sciences-wide and managing a special giving prospect portfolio. Orchestrate a program of Annual Giving whereby high potential prospects and donors surfaced are appropriately visited by Annual Giving staff and/or strategized into a Major Gifts, or School/Unit Officer portfolio. Incumbent will be responsible for developing the major gifts pipeline through managing a membership program.
