Requirements:

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Degree. 

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Public Relations, Business, English.

Minimum Experience:

  • Previous experience managing events, preferably in a development office or hospital.

Preferred Experience:

  • 3 – 5 years managing special events in a hospital development office, Progressively responsible experience in areas of development of annual programs, marketing and individual gifts.
  • Knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge software.
  • Knowledge of Maestrosoft AuctionMaestro Pro.

License Required:

  • Driver License.

We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manager of Special Events.

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning, coordinating, executing, evaluating and strategizing all foundation and community events in support of the Foundation’s fundraising efforts.
  • This position reports to the Director of Major Giving.
  • This position will oversee various volunteer group activities, cultivation events, hospital and mock-up room tours and events, community outreach events, and the primary fundraising event, The Night of Nights annual gala supporting Palomar Pomerado Health.
  • The Manager of Special Events will foster strong working relationships with the Gala Chair, Gala Volunteers and PPH Marketing department to develop goals and objectives and manage corresponding projects.
  • This position will be responsible for the recruitment and cultivation of event participants and volunteers, including securing event sponsorships and underwriting.
  • The Manager of Special Events identifies and solicit prospects for in-kind and auction donations for gala and other Foundation events.
  • Utilizing Raiser’s Edge and Maestrosoft Auction Pro, Manager of Special Events will be responsible for maintaining and managing all event data and generating reports as needed.
  • The Manager of Special Events will be responsible for adhering to project budgets and timelines for special events. 
  • Work hours may extend into the evenings or weekends.
