Joining a team of highly dedicated and energetic individuals, the successful candidate will work in an inclusive manner with staff and volunteers to build a strong and cohesive fundraising capacity, create new growth and foster a culture of philanthropy at ACT. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, maturity and experience working with staff, donors, senior volunteers, and government and corporate leaders will be some of the key assets the candidate will bring with them to the organization.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned fundraising professional with seven to ten years experience in managing and carrying out a full development program in a mid-sized organization. Demonstrated experience in evaluating development activities, maximizing existing programs, creating and managing strategic development plans and new marketing thrusts, and cultivating, closing and stewarding major gifts is essential. A CFRE designation and AFP membership are considered assets.

To continue to fund and sustain this vital work, ACT requires a seasoned and successful Fund Development professional with a proven track record to fill the position of
Director of Development
Reporting to the Executive Director and working with a small development staff, the Director of Development will be responsible for leading the organization to the next level in its fund development activity. In addition to expanding current fundraising programs focused primarily on major special events and annual giving, the new Director of Development will be responsible for the planning, establishment and execution of major gifts, planned giving and further direct response programs. He/she will also be accountable for securing foundation and government grants as well as utilizing superior relationship building and communication skills to develop new corporate alliances. |

The AIDS Committee of Toronto (“ACT”) is a community-based, charitable organization leading the development and delivery of programs and services that contribute to achieving a world without HIV/AIDS.
Founded in 1983, ACT delivers responsive, effective and valued community-based HIV support and services, as well as education, prevention, outreach and fundraising programs to promote health, wellbeing, and the worth/rights of individuals and communities living with, affected by and at risk for HIV/AIDS.
