The ideal candidate is passionate about the mission of La Rabida Children’s Hospital and has a proven ability to build a development function.  S/he will have strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships with existing donors and capacities to build new donor relationships.  The Vice President of Development will seek opportunities to build awareness of La Rabida and its mission in the Chicago donor community.

Since 1896 La Rabida Children’s Hospital in Chicago has enabled children to reach their highest potential.  Located on the shores of beautiful Lake Michigan, and just south of the Loop, La Rabida is a small and personal hospital dedicated to caring for children with lifelong medical conditions.  Private and not-for-profit, La Rabida provides care without regard to a family’s ability to pay.

La Rabida seeks a Vice President of Development to expand its philanthropy program.  This person will provide leadership and vision for the hospital’s development initiatives, including building long-range plans, overseeing all fundraising activities, and evaluating progress at appropriate intervals.  The Vice President of Development will take charge and prioritize effective fundraising activities of the CEO, development staff and Board of Trustees.  S/he will prepare La Rabida to successfully undertake a capital campaign.
