Richard Boone
Regional Director

Welcome to our first edition of the AHP Rockies & Southwest Regional newsletter. We hope to bring timely news and information that will help you with the very important work you do for your organization.

About the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy — AHP Board of Directors Chair Milt Smith, FAHP, said it best, "Our mission is unique, our leadership is solid, and our membership is committed." Thank you for your participation as a member of our very strong region. We look forward to networking with you through this newsletter and hope to see you at our regional conference in June in Santa Fe!

Best Regards,
Richard Boone
Regional Director

A Message from Charlotte Rhodes, ACFRE
AHP Rockies and Southwest RIC/Communications Chair

The regional cabinet met March 7, 2003 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin, Texas. Plans are underway for the regional conference — "Austin City Limits" May 4-7, 2003. Tune in to Fundraising Success will not only feature Austin, Texas as the live music capital of the world, but will showcase the fundraising talent of the Southwest. Rick Resnick, conference chair, has developed tracks for leadership, donor-centered strategies, ethics, and an udderly event, "Cow Parade Houston, 2001."

On a sad note, we all regret the passing of Gerry Gunnin, Ph.D. He provided years of leadership to our region and our highest professional achievement award is named in his honor.

Congratulations to our region for meeting net goal in membership, the highest net increase in members, and the highest percentage goal!
