About the AHP Foundation

The Association for Healthcare Philanthropy Foundation provides the resources for AHP to support the health care philanthropy community. Your generous pledge to the Foundation's annual fund helps AHP advance health care through philanthropic innovation, education, advocacy, and services and resources that benefit health care development professionals.

  • Your dollars fund several scholarships each year for those who are new to the profession or would not otherwise have a chance to experience a professional development institute or conference.
  • Your gifts keep the AHP Resource Center strong and accessible. The resource center provides materials and research on topics essential for today's health care development professionals.
  • Your pledge helps AHP advocate and promote our profession in a meaningful way.

The AHP Foundation will continue to support the AHP Resource Center and AHP Foundation Scholarship program as outlined in the 2016 Case for Support. Your contribution to the Foundation's annual fund is vital to the success of these programs.

“I would like to thank AHP for the opportunity to attend the Madison Institute Annual Giving track. The scholarship was a huge investment into advancing healthcare for rural East Texans served by the East Texas Medical Center Foundation. Genuine seasoned instructors, peer-to-peer learning, and a good schedule created such a fruitful learning environment.

In coming to Madison, my goal was to learn how to expand our four (4) annual giving campaigns into eight (8) and increase our web presence. I now have the skills to connect with our first-time donors through more meaningful and timely touch points to nurture lifelong giving relationships. The metrics I learned are key for the ETMC Foundation to make better decisions determining what needs to be advanced. My list of suggestions to help cultivate an internal culture of giving is priceless.

Thank you AHP, Donna Budak, Suzanne Bone & Ann Thompson-Haas! The lifetime value of your investment into improving the healthcare of East Texas is far more than any of you realize.  I would definitely attend again and recommend it to all fundraising professionals. Whether one is a novice or veteran of fundraising, AHP Madison Institute provides tools necessary to grow one’s foundation to the next level.”

2016 AHP Foundation Scholarship Recipient and Foundation Associate, East Texas Medical Center Foundation, Tyler, Texas

“I was awestruck by the calibre of the Madison Institute experience. The Fundraising Management course was by far the best adult education experience I have had (and I have taken a lot of courses over the years!)  A number of colleagues have recommended Madison and so I had high expectations going into it – but those expectations were surpassed.

Heading into Madison, I was looking for a learning experience that would provide me with the confidence I need at a senior executive level to calmly stay the course in an environment of long-term reduced government spending and heightened interest group competition. A few weeks post-Madison, and in spite of the travel vagaries to get there and back, I continue to feel humbled, grounded, re-affirmed and inspired all at once. Overall, I would rate the Institute as world-class and I know the tiny foundation I now lead will benefit from its teachings for years to come.”
