Introduction to Public Relations

Introduction

Health care development cannot take place successfully without good public relations. It is important, therefore, for development professionals to understand the public relations process and how it can benefit the development program. That is why this topic is one of the fundamental educational programs offered by the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy Foundation and the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP).

This course provides a basic introduction to public relations as it relates to the not-for-profit health care organization. It defines public relations goals and objectives, identifies common public relations tactics, and explores the role of public relations in the development process.

The guide recapitulates material covered in the AHP course "Introduction to Public Relations" and points you to additional resources to help you gain yet more detailed knowledge of this subject.
