Understanding the Issues Facing Your Hospital and Your PatientsAHP is proud to welcome Congressman Tim Murphy, U.S. Congressman for the 18th District of Pennsylvania, as the plenary speaker for the regional conference. Attend this luncheon and learn more about several key issues that affect your patients (and donors) and impact fundraising. With 30 years of experience as a child psychologist, Representative Murphy is one of the few health care professionals in Congress who is capable of fully addressing how to meet today’s health care challenges. As co-chair of both the 21st Century Healthcare Caucus and Mental Health Caucus, he is educating both his colleagues and the public on the need to focus on patient centered health care to make health care more accessible and affordable for American families. Along these lines, he recently introduced the Healthy Hospitals Act, H.R. 1174, requiring the public reporting of infection rates to allow patients to make better informed decisions about their health care.
