AHP Development Primer
Sunday, April 27, 9:00 am-5:00 pm

This day-long workshop will provide a comprehensive overview of health care philanthropy. The morning program will look at health care philanthropy as a profession and will touch on the psychology of giving, professional ethics, and organizational models. Throughout the afternoon, you will learn about the practice of development. Topics will include annual giving, planned giving, capital campaigns, major gifts, grateful patient programs, and special events. Sessions also will examine the characteristics of constituent groups such as individuals, corporations and foundations.

The program fee includes the all day workshop, the AHP Primer Manual, continental breakfast, breaks, and lunch.

Robert C. Osborne, Jr. has nearly twelve years of fundraising management experience. With experience in campaign planning and implementation, leadership major gifts, stewardship and donor relations, and not-for-profit management, he stands out as a leader in this field.

This session will explore current trends in philanthropy and how to deal with them from a scientific and artful approach.

This session will offer the traditional roundtable model, with a facilitator at each table who will open the roundtable session with a short presentation (15–20 minutes) followed by group discussion on that particular topic. You will receive handouts/toolkits for their specific topic. Come prepared to learn practical information that you can implement in your own shop.
