AHP Pacific Regional Conference
Conference Chair Susan Blake, Education Chair John Korb, CFRE, and their committee have designed a conference with tracks that will examine best practices in health care fundraising, relationships and leadership. There will be networking opportunities that will allow you to share ideas with other health care fundraising professionals in our region, and the roundtables will again emphasize the “Learning on Demand” format that was so popular at last year’s conference. Portland is a vibrant, beautiful city and was the #1 choice of our AHP Pacific members for the site of the 2008 conference. This is the first AHP Pacific conference ever held in Portland, and in addition to enjoying the educational benefits, participants can enjoy a special wine tasting evening event or take advantage of nearby attractions such as the world-class Oregon Museum of Science and Industry, the Portland Art Museum or a dinner cruise on the Willamette River. I realize it is often difficult to get away from the office, but our regional conferences are a tremendous value for new and seasoned professionals alike. Because AHP focuses exclusively on health care fundraising, participants come away with tools and ideas that have proven successful in other hospitals in our region. The 2008 Pacific Region Conference will take the highly successful “Best Practices” educational tracks to new heights when we meet in Portland, Oregon June 22-24. Our conference theme “Summit to Success” is appropriate not only for Portland’s close proximity to Mt. Hood (a dormant volcano as picture perfect as Mount Fuji), but also for the valuable knowledge participants will gain to help raise the level of philanthropy in their own hospitals and health care organizations.
