Instant Campaigning - From Zero to $30 Million in Six Months (then Back to Basics for a $50 Million Effort)

The presenters will share the amazing story of starting a new campaign with new staff while securing two $15 million lead gifts. At the same time these “lightning-strike” gifts were closing, an entire campaign case, a DVD and a volunteer organization were created to continue a traditional campaign to meet a $50 million goal. The presentation will conclude with video highlights of the two lead donors-ages 92 and 52-describing their motivations for giving.

Planned Giving in Plain English: Effectively Applying Planned Giving to Major Gifts Fundraising

Being able to incorporate planned gift vehicles into your major gifts skill set will dramatically increase your fundraising productivity. This session will provide simple “plain English” descriptions of the most commonly used planned gift vehicles and will explain how to apply them to a donor’s particular financial circumstances. Case studies will be used to show when to propose a gift of appreciated stock or real property, a gift annuity, a charitable remainder trust, a life estate gift of one’s home, or a combination of these techniques.
