Please nominate a colleague for our region’s most prestigious award of professional recognition, the Gerry Gunnin Professional Achievement Award, or for the Outstanding Newcomer Award. Recipients will receive their awards at the AHP Rockies and Southwest Conference in Santa Fe, N.M. (April 20 -22, 2007, at the Eldorado Hotel and Spa).

Nominations must be received by 5 p.m. (central time) on Wednesday, February 28, 2007.

The Gerry Gunnin Professional Achievement Award
This AHP Rockies & Southwest Region member will be recognized because of the example she/he exhibits personally in our industry. This award emphasizes exemplary ethics, fundraising success and generosity to colleagues with development knowledge. The recipient will receive an award recognizing this honor at the regional conference. The candidate must:

1. Exhibit a strong conviction of ethics both personally and professionally.
2. Demonstrate leadership abilities within our profession.
3. Represent our industry in a professional, respectful manner to others in our community as well as the nominee's community.
4. Be employed in the healthcare industry for a minimum of five years.
5. Be a member of AHP.

Outstanding Newcomer
This award will serve as an endorsement of accomplishments and background that a new professional brings to our industry. The recipient will receive an award recognizing this honor at the regional conference. The candidate must:

1. Develop or enhance a current program at their hospital.
2. Bring to the position a background that exhibits a personal belief in volunteerism and philanthropy.
3. Demonstrate support of the community through personal involvement in civic organizations or projects that evidence interest in the future of the community.
4. Be employed in the healthcare industry no longer than five years upon acceptance of this scholarship.
5. Be a member of AHP.
