Ask the Librarian - The AHP RIC Library

The AHP RIC Library houses thousands of publications on health care fundraising topics including annual giving, budgets, policies, direct mail, marketing, grants, special events, trends, the small shop, and much more.

The AHP RIC Library has more than 50 packets available on frequently requested health care fundraising topics, collects answers to the most frequently-asked questions, and is your source for the AHP Report on Giving and the AHP Core Curriculum Self-study Guides. For members only, electronic copies of handouts from the AHP International Educational Conference and AHP Regional Conferences are available.

In addition, the AHP RIC Library has a full time librarian on staff to assist you with a customized search on a health care fundraising issue that has you stumped!

Need to find an answer to a fundraising question — fast? Tired of looking at a variety of sources and still not finding your answer.

With Ask AHP, AHP members can learn how other hospitals approach capital campaigns, endowment efforts, golf tournaments, major gift efforts and more. You can also get simple answers to questions such as "how much money was given to health care institutions in 2002?"

Available 24 hours a day and seven days a week, Ask AHP allows you to e-mail any question you have about fundraising and receive a personalized e-mailed answer within 24 hours.

Ask a Colleague — The AHP RIC Listserve

Sometimes your colleagues are your best source of information. The AHP RIC Listserve, with more than 1,000 participants, lets you:

  • Ask questions and receive solutions from fellow AHP members;
  • Share knowledge and advice with others;
  • Keep in contact with other members;
  • Receive up-to-date information from AHP; and
  • Search the archives for past questions and response
