Q & A

1. How did you get into healthcare philanthropy?

My first experience in healthcare philanthropy began in university as a volunteer with the Kids with Cancer Society. We created the most incredible, magical Christmas party for children facing cancer. I understood immediately the life-changing impact that these moments and memories had on families, and I knew that it was where I wanted to center my career.

2. Tell us about a pivot point or crucial step in your career journey.

I'm so grateful to my mentors and colleagues to have the opportunity to be part of a campaign in support of Canada’s largest, most comprehensive stand-alone cancer care center. Every day I'm learning, growing, and I can't wait to see the difference that this will make for patients in our province.

3. What piece of advice would you give aspiring 40 Under 40 recipients?

There is so much opportunity in change, transition, and the unknown. If you can "show up" with optimism and enthusiasm every day, it truly brings out the best in yourself and your team.

Fun Fact:

I grew up taking dance lessons and had the opportunity to work as a dancer at an all-inclusive resort in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It's still one of my favorite places to visit.
