About the AHP Foundation

The Association for Healthcare Philanthropy Foundation provides the resources for AHP to support the health care philanthropy community. Your generous pledge to the Foundation's annual fund helps AHP advance health care through philanthropic innovation, education, advocacy, and services and resources that benefit health care development professionals.

  • Your dollars fund several scholarships each year for those who are new to the profession or would not otherwise have a chance to experience a professional development institute or conference.
  • Your gifts keep the AHP Resource Center strong and accessible. The resource center provides materials and research on topics essential for today's health care development professionals.
  • Your pledge helps AHP advocate and promote our profession in a meaningful way.

The AHP Foundation will continue to support the AHP Resource Center and AHP Foundation Scholarship program as outlined in the 2016 Case for Support. Your contribution to the Foundation's annual fund is vital to the success of these programs.

“I attended the AHP International Conference in San Diego, CA, USA from 17-20 October, 2018. Without the AHP Foundation’s help, I could not have attended this conference. I gained a wealth of knowledge at the conference and made significant contacts in the hospital philanthropy sector which will continue to assist me as I develop. I hope very much that I am able to also share my knowledge and experience with others.

I expected to be blown away by the level of professionalism of health care philanthropy in the US and I was. I didn’t expect the enormous amount of generosity in the willingness of colleagues to share so much information with me. Everyone who said they would follow-up with me, has, and I have received so much material for which I am very grateful.

This conference was an invaluable experience and I will be working hard on encouraging my board to approve another trip in a few years and I hope I can enable another staff member to have a similar experience. I would thoroughly recommend an AHP conference to all my colleagues.”

“I had the honor of attending the AHP Madison Institute at the University of Wisconsin from July 15th to 20th as an AHP Bursary Recipient. Without question, it was the most meaningful professional development experience of my 12 year fundraising career.

My experience truly reignited my passion for my profession – and inspired me to set a personal goal to teach at the AHP Madison Institute in the future. Whenever I consult my red binder, I will be reminded not only of the phenomenal learning that I gained, but how the work of professional fundraisers does inspire change. While our donors deserve every accolade for their continued philanthropy, it’s an honor to play a very small role in their journey – and to know that it does make a difference. I would highly recommend this learning experience to others in my field.

I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to the AHP Hospital Development and Education Fund of Canada for selecting me as an AHP Bursary Recipient this year. I was incredibly humbled to be selected among my talented peers. I made the most out of my learning experience and I know that the knowledge that I gained will benefit me for years to come. Thank you very much for this wonderful opportunity.”
