What a healthcare philanthropy membership should be.
AHPrime is a membership designed to support your entire organization––including your board. The content and structure of this membership is tailored to your team's specific needs with the ultimate goal of helping you improve your healthcare fundraising game within the boundaries of your audience, team structure, budget, and organization type.
During this difficult year in fundraising, we understand how important it is for your organization to make sure that every dollar spent is to help your fundraising grow. Keep reading to learn how these 5 deliverables of the AHPrime Membership does that for you––no matter the size or structure of your healthcare foundation.
Recognizing that large teams can't all attend our conferences, we bring some of that learning on-site (virtually, for now) once a year, delivered by leaders in healthcare philanthropy and/or members of the AHP team. This is also a great way to get your entire team in the same page on how to achieve your organization's fundraising goals.
Topics include fundraising in times of uncertainty, how to work better with boards, volunteers, and hospital leadership, and new ways to engage grateful patients, among others.
"We are believers. Our team quickly embraced the value of AHPrime soon after signing up, as we reached out for a speaker to bring us the pulse of the industry during this crisis, and what we received was exactly what we hoped for: an informed, personalized, clear, and interesting give and take with impressive follow-up on any items that required more research. Value is appreciated when times are good, but bringing value is critical when times are challenging. We appreciate AHPrime being there for us."

The best advice can come from those who share similar experiences in similar settings. We understand that national systems face different challenges than regional or stand-alone organizations. We also know that as a children's hospital foundation, your focus is going to be very different from hospice foundations and vice versa. For this reason, the AHPrime Leadership Roundtables are carefully structured by AHP staff based on commonalities like size, structure, location, and benchmarking data.
Our goal is for your experience as part of the Leadership Roundtable to be incredibly valuable, where the conversations you have with peers are meaningful and relevant to your organization's needs. The Roundtables will meet twice a year in person, and every meeting will be organized so that the conversations are focused but at the same allowing for free-flowing discussions that benefit everyone present.
Quotes from Randy or Fred
Benchmarking against similar organizations is a terrific way to determine where your foundation(s) is strong, and where you have opportunities to improve. But identifying those cohorts and digging into their data can be time consuming and difficult. AHPrime’s benchmarking platform makes that sort of analysis easy, so that you are able to focus on the insights and on learning from others who are excelling.
The Benchmarking Platform is an intuitive web-based benchmarking platform. Today, we have over 200 organizations submitting data, including all the AHPrime member organizations. Many provide their data unblinded which will allow you to access that information quickly, and even give you a chance to reach out to them for advice.
Your Annual Giving or Major Gifts Officers will be happy to see they can create year-over-year comparison sets with similar organizations based on categories like Return on Investment, Cost to Raise a Dollar, Net Fundraising Revenue, Total Fundraising Expenses, and Total Endowment.
Case Studies and Best Practices
While there can never be enough case studies or toolkits for your team to absorb, there also isn't enough time in the day for your team to read them all. With our new Center for Excellence, we're committed to doing the research for you, and creating content in various different formats to help you and your team use them in the best way that fits your needs.
In the Center for Excellence, you can expect to see in-depth reports––supported by data and best practices––from AHP's top performing members in different categories, or access ready-made PowerPoint templates with stats you can use for your own presentations, one-sheeters you can skim over lunch, and much more.
Part of the benefit with AHPrime, is that you and your team get additional support from an AHP Account Manager to help handle some of the tasks that would help your team focus on what's important. The AHPrime Account Management Team is there to help you access the resources you need quickly, help connect you with peers even before a Leadership Roundtable, coordinate a speaking event, and even help get your roster up to date.
And speaking of roster, AHPrime is the only AHP membership that gives you the option of adding your entire organization's staff––even board members––to access some or all of these benefits, without any extra cost.

What's the story behind AHPrime?
For years, AHP members and non-members alike have talked about the need for our organization to step up the support of members, to lean into a data-driven approach, and to lead the profession with a more concentrated effort to deliver best-in-class education, networking and insights and analysis. We’ve combined all of these into AHPrime.
AHPrime expands on AHP’s greatest strength––the community––through access to AHP membership for everyone in your organization, roundtables of peer groups for you, and professional development and best practices presentations delivered for your team at your organization or, as these times require, virtually. AHPrime also makes creating data-driven benchmarking cohorts easy, allowing you to give your C-Suite partners and boards insight into where you are doing well and where investment could return better results.
