Director of Annual Giving

Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation

Amy developed a data-driven direct mail strategy that streamlined operations, reduced expenses, and increased net revenue by 400 percent within her first year at the Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation. She led the Foundation’s Giving Tuesday campaign to a new milestone, surpassing $324,000 in donations and nearly tripling the previous year’s revenue by implementing a successful matching opportunity.

She successfully relaunched and rebranded the Foundation’s grateful patient program, doubling the number of donations to the “Amazing at the Alex” program and deepening relationships with patients and their families. Amy was honored with the President’s Award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Ottawa Chapter in 2018 in recognition of her leadership and contributions to the profession.

Having lived and worked across both the United States and Canada, I've seen firsthand how critical equitable access to healthcare truly is—particularly during the pandemic. Witnessing the relentless commitment of healthcare teams and having personally been impacted by their dedication made it an easy decision when the opportunity arose to advocate for care teams in Victoria, BC. Healthcare philanthropy offered a tangible way to give back, and once I saw the immediate and lasting impact of this work in action, I was all in.

Health moments are often life’s most defining—whether filled with joy or heartache. To walk alongside people during these moments, and help make their experience more compassionate, is an extraordinary privilege.

I’ve had the honor of working with generous community partners who believe in the power of accessible, transformational healthcare. Their trust fuels my drive every day.

I’m also inspired by my father, who spent over 30 years as a security guard in a downtown Toronto hospital. He always saw his job as more than keeping people safe—he was a steady, kind presence in the chaos of an emergency room. He showed me that we all have a role to play in the care journey, no matter our title or function. That belief guides me still.

One of the most meaningful moments of my career was working alongside the Lois Hole Hospital Women’s Society—a remarkable group advocating for women’s health. Women’s health remains underfunded and under-researched, and gender disparities in our healthcare system continue to impact access to care.

Reaching the $1 million milestone with this dedicated team was more than a fundraising success: it was a celebration of what can happen when passionate people unite around a purpose. Being part of that journey changed me, and it reinforced the importance of advocacy, community, and listening deeply to voices that need to be heard.

I’m passionate about amplifying voices that are often overlooked or underestimated. Everyone has a story that deserves space, and when those stories are heard, especially in spaces where they’ve historically been missing, we all benefit.

I believe in building tables long enough for everyone to have a seat. When our work mirrors the richness of the people it represents, it becomes more authentic, more powerful, and more human.

Never forget: your voice matters. Your ideas matter. And your presence makes a difference.

Healthcare philanthropy places you at a unique intersection of innovation, compassion, and community. Never underestimate the impact one donor, one story, or one conversation can have. Show up with your whole heart—this work is a gift, and so are you.

Fun Fact

I seek adventure around the world. Whether swimming in a volcanic crater in Nicaragua, waterfall-chasing in Iceland, exploring the Great Pyramids of Giza, or admiring the intricate design of ancient temples in Japan, I continue to be inspired by the beauty, resilience, and stories found across cultures. My travels have taken me across five continents—and counting!
