Facing COVID-19: Converting a Night of Heroes to a Virtual Success in Six Weeks

Night of Heroes is a core event for the Valleywise Health Foundation (VHF), highlighting incredible patient stories of resilience and survival. But then COVID-19 changed everything.

Sponsors began cancelling their events, and soon followed VHF's annual golf tournament. But the VHF team was determined to move forward with their gala, honoring young burn victim Isabella McCune.

In this article, Kevin Neal, Board Chair, Kate Fassett, Vice President of Development for Valleywise Health Foundation, and Lisa Hartsock, Foundation Relations Executive for Valleywise Health, tell the story of how they quickly turned their annual gala into a successful online fundraising event.
